Davide Shorty - Might Delete Later
Art direction developed for Might Delete Later (Oppure Forse No) by Davide Shorty.
The visual identity is built around Jazz Subitaneo, an original acrylic-on-canvas painting selected for its strong connection to the track’s emotional tone and musical character.
The project brings together painting and graphic design to create an artwork that feels immediate, expressive, and unresolved. Rather than illustrating the song literally, the cover translates its tension into a visual language shaped by instinct, movement, and emotional instability.
Davide Shorty’s artistic identity moves between rap, jazz, and songwriting. The single explores the tension between creative impulse, personal exposure, and the possibility of reconsidering what has been shared.
The challenge was to translate this ambiguity into an authentic visual language, avoiding a literal interpretation and transforming the painting into a narrative element rather than a purely decorative one.
I identified Jazz Subitaneo as the meeting point between my visual language and the identity of the track. Its layered forms, expressive gestures, and sense of instability convey immediacy and emotional tension. A restrained graphic treatment adapted the painting to the cover format while preserving its material quality and establishing it as the project’s visual focal point.
