Dreg - Blue EP
Art direction, cover design, and packaging developed for Blue, a six-track EP by Palermo-based rapper Dreg.
The project uses blue not only as a visual element, but as the central narrative principle of the entire identity.
Through colour, texture, and physical design, the artwork translates the EP’s introspective character into a visual system shaped by emotional depth, memory, calmness, and movement.
Dreg is a rapper from Palermo known for his introspective writing and understated presence. Blue marked a period of musical evolution, exploring new sounds while remaining closely connected to the artist’s identity.
The challenge was to create a visual identity capable of communicating the project’s emotional depth without relying on the aggressive or stereotypical visual codes often associated with rap. The artwork needed to feel essential, distinctive, and consistent with the artist’s calm and reflective character.
I transformed blue into the central principle of the entire visual system, using different shades and intensities to evoke emotional depth, nostalgia, and movement. The blue packaging and the circular texture applied to the disc recall the movement of ocean waves, translating the EP’s introspective quality into an elegant and coherent physical object.
